Stellenbosch - SA Cheese Festival 2011 - April

The SA Cheese Festival has a new venue for 2011. The SA Cheese Festival will this year be held on the farm Sandringham, near Stellenbosch from the 29th April to the 2nd May 2011.

The organisers of the SA Cheese Festival have limited the number of tickets available for the four days so, with the additional space offered by the new location  festival goers are in for a treat.

Tickets can only be bought on line or through your local Checkers Store. There won't be any sales at the gate on the days of the Festival.

The Cheese Festival, with it's spectacular program promises to be the food event of the year and is definitely not to be missed. There will be plenty of entertainment for both adults and children with cooking demos, cheese and wine tasting, cheese vendors and craftsmen as well as a fun tour on the journey of milk, from green pasture to the final delectable piece of cheese.

Ficksburg - Cherry Festival Program for 2010 Announced

The Cherry Festival Committee has finally announced the program for the 2010 edition of the Festival. The Cherry Festival is scheduled for the 18th to the 20th November 2010.

The program, which is on the relaunched Cherry Festival website has been expanded and the organizers have some brilliant new items that are sure to draw many new and old festival goers.

Many of the items need to be booked in advance so the time to do it is now. 


Breedkloof - Outdoor and Wine Festival -Oct 2010

The Breedekloof Outdoor and Wine Festival takes place from Thursday 7th October and ends 10th October. last year the Breedekloof Outdoor and Wine Festival was a huge success and the organisers are confident that they have put together an even better program for this year.
It takes place on a group of wine farms and outdoor destinations in the Worcester, Rawsonville, Goudini and Slanghoek area.

Vredendal on the West Coast will be hosting the brand new Huisgenoot Namaqua Music Festival in October.  The Huisgenoot Namaqua Music Festival is scheduled for the weekend of 28th to 31st October at the sports fields in Vredendal. More than 24  artisits will be performing over the 4 days in another Huisgenoot Music Farm Spectacular.

Ficksburg - Cherry Festival - November 2010

Ficksburg in the Free State Highlands has been host to the annual Cherry Festival for 42 years. The 43rd version of the Cherry Festival is scheduled for Thursay to daturday 18th to 20th November 2010.
The annual Cherry Festival is the longest running harvest festival in South Africa and every year it seems that the organisers find new ways of staying out in front when it comes to festival goers satisfaction.
The program for 2010 has not yet been released but if previous years are anything to by, those lucky enough to get accommodation in or around Ficksburg are sure of a wonderful three days.

The Aardklop Arts Festival takes place from 28th Sept to 3rd Oct 2010. this is the thiteenth year that Aardklop has been presented and the organisers expect 170,000 visitors over the 6 days. The program is very comprehensive and there's something for everyone.

The 6th edition of the Riebeek Valley Shiraz and Arts Weekend is scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd October 2010. The Wine Cellars participating in this year’s Riebeek Shiraz and Arts Weekend will be hosting some excellent exhibitions of art, sculpture and photography.

The Hermanus Whale Festival is scheduled for the long weekend of 24th to 28th September 2010. The Hermanus Whale Festival remains South Africa’s major Enviro-arts festival and this year the program is even better than in past years.

The Whale Festival attracts thousands of visitors to Hermanus at the height of the whale season so if you intend participating in some of the events it’s advisable to book early.
