Last year (2010) the Standard Bank sponsored Jacaranda National Arts Festival took place in April. This year, so far, we have not yet heard whether or not the Festival is to have a second edition.

Simonstown - SA Navy Festival - April 2011

The Fourth South African Navy Festival runs from 1st to 3rd April 2011. The SA Navy Birthday Festival, as this year's festival is named promises to be a real festival with real action. 

"There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats" – so said River Rat to Mole in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, and this is true of the South African Navy Festival.

There will be tug boat rides around the Simons Town Harbour.

Langebaan - Mykonos Lagoon Festival - March 2011

The Annual Rapport Mykonos West Coast Lagoon Festival will be held at Club Mykonos, Langebaan on the weekend of 25-27 March 2011.

As always there will be a wide range of outdoor activities at the West Coast Lagoon Festival along the shores of beautiful Langebaan Lagoon such as Hobie Cat races, Mountain bike events, a fun run, spinnathon and Kick boxing.

Mogale City - Cradle Festival - May 2011

The inaugural Cradle Festival centred at the Maropeng Visitor Centre, in the Cradle of Humankind, is scheduled for the 6th to the 15th May 2011.

The Festival will be open to the public over the two weekends at either end of the Festival, and the days in between will be utilised by learners from Gauteng Schools, on formal visits to the Cradle of Humankind.

The Cradle Festival will encompass several sporting events, including the Honda Mountain Trophy and the easier Honda Mountain Adventure, Ferrari Car Displays, Potjiekos Competitions Fly Fishing, myriad food stalls, plenty of great music and a host of other fun events.
