This 3 day program is for novices, experts and anyone wanting to learn more about birds.Bird expert Joe Grosel is presenting his popular Bird Identification Course at the Nestle Centre, Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, Roodepoort, from 30 September to 2 October 2011.

Prof. Derek Engelbrecht will also get participants involved up close and personal while he does some  bird ringing. Delegates will benefit from Joe’s


Pretoria - CSIR Convention Centre gets upgrade March 2011

In a recent press release the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria announced several upgrades to this already supberb venue. The major investment in upgrades is improving levels of access for disabled visitors to the centre. Along with improving Disabled Access facilities other important upgrades include completing additional modern facilities in new areas of the Convention Complex.

CSIR has given the assurance that none of this work will disrupt business in any way.


Durban - Midwives Congress Program - June 2011

The International Confederation of Midwives is holding it's 29th Triennial Congress in Durban in June 2011.

This international event is attracting hundreds of Midwives from around the world and the congress program has been released.

Included in the program is a 5 km walk on the Saturday Afternoon 18th June. This walk will be the culmination of hundreds of 5km walks around the world in the build up to the 29th Triennial Congress.

The walk is open to all who support Midwives and their calling, as well as the rights of women around the world.

Johannesburg - Design in Hospitality July 2011

Thebe Exhibitions & Projects Group announced the launch of Design in Hospitality (DiH), the first confex of its kind to be held in South Africa. The inaugural two-day event will take place on 7 and 8 July at The Forum, Turbine Hall, Newtown, Joburg.

The long awaited and sometimes controversial Consumer Protection Act is set to come into effect on the 24th of October 2010 and in order to comply. Companies will have to implement new sales and marketing techniques, pricing policies, refunds and credits policies, as well as accounting policies and procedures.

Most companies will have to conduct extensive staff training on the Consumer Protection Act and they will have to relook at their contracts with consumers as well as product labelling.
