Wolseley - MTB Challenge - July 2012

The annual Wolseley MTB Challenge takes place on Saturday 21st July and promises to be an excellent day out, which you could turn into a weekend of fun.

The Wolseley MTB Challenge is dicvided into 4 separate events so there is an event for everyone. Distances are 64km, 44km, 22km and 5 km. The 22km event was originally planned as a 17km event.

Stellenbosch - AU.RA - 30 Year Old Brandy from Van Ryns

Van Ryns Brandy have launched the most exclusive Brandy ever in South Africa. Called AURA - A combination of AU (the symbol of Gold) and RA (The mythical Egyptian sun god). Fauresmith - Fauresmith 200 Endurance Race - June/July 2012

The Annual Fauresmith 200 Endurance Race for Horse and Rider takes place on Tuesday 3rd July to Thursday 5th July, but the Fauresmith event actually starts on Friday 30th June 2012, with all the preliminary events and activities over the following 3 days.  Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfasts, Self catering and Hotels in and near Fauresmith will be in for a busy time as riders from around the country and abroad descend on Fauresmith for this incredible endurance event.


Hermanus Attractions - Kalfie Fees Program - August 2012

The annual cultural bash in Hermanus called the Kalfie Fees is scheduled for the 8th to 12th August 2012. Bookings open on 1st July 2012 and the organisers have put together an exciting and varied program. Most of it is in Afrikaans but the majority of South Africans will enjoy a variety of Music, Drama, Comedy and even some serious stuff like discussion events.

The Alwyn Vintcent steam powered tug has arrived at Villiersdorp on the final 480km round journey from Cape Town. The last 10 kilometers from its overnight stopover was lined with jubilant residents of Villiersdorp and many visitors who made an early trip to enjoy this brilliant effort to save a piece of engineering genius previously doomed to the scrapheap.

The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon is scheduled to be run on the Easter weekend of 29th March to 1st April 2013.

This is the 43rd consecutive  Two Oceans Marathon and follow the traditional route via Chapman's Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek (unless deemed unsafe by local authorities in which case the Ou Kaapse Weg route will be used)
