Wellington - Safari Half Marathon - May 2012

The 25th Annual Safari Half Marathon in Wellington takes place on Tuesday 1st May 2012. The Safari event is one of the most popular half marathons in the Cape despite all the other events that are staged in the Western Cape on the same day. In addition to the half marathon the Safari sponsored day includes a 5km fun run, a 10km walk and a 2 by 10.5km relay race.
Bookings close on the 15th April 2012 and there is no late entry option. Over 10,000 entrants are expected for the event. Previous years experience indicates that you need between 2 and 3 hours to reach the venue
from Cape Town because of traffic congestion. That means you need to leave Cape Town anywhere between 4 and 5 am.  The alternative is to find accommodation near Wellington.
