Since 1964 the Natural History Museum in London together with the BBC Wildlife magazine have been hosting the annual wildlife Photographer of the year competition. The top 95 images which were selected from submissions of over 90,000 professional and amateur photographers around the globe are regarded as being the leading artistic representation of the natural world.
We are privileged in South Africa to be able to see these works at the Iziko South African Museum, next door to the Planetarium in Cape Town. The exhibition organised by Natural History Unit Africa exhibition costs R15 for adults. Pensioners and students R5 and children under 16 free of charge. It runs until 13th March 2010.
