The Southern Cape Old Car Club is once again hosting the ever popular George Old Car Show. Over 800 vintage and veteran cars, trucks tractors and motor cycles will be on display at the second biggest show of it's kind in South Africa.

Since 1964 the Natural History Museum in London together with the BBC Wildlife magazine have been hosting the annual wildlife Photographer of the year competition. The top 95 images which were selected from submissions of over 90,000 professional and amateur photographers around the globe are regarded as being the leading artistic representation of the natural world.

Organisers of the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour will be hoping for better weather when this years race is held on Sunday 14th March. Last year gale force winds played havoc with riders, advertisers, watering points and catering sites. More than 25000 riders are expected to finish this year's race which starts at the Civic Centre in down town Cape Town then moves down the M3 to Lakeside, onto Boyes Drive down to Kalk Bay. From Kalk Bay the route takes you past Simonstown to Scarborough and Oceanview, then through the scenic Chapmans Peak Drive, up Suikerbossie and back to Greenpoint.

After much speculation as to whether the 2010 Giro Del Capo would take place it is now confirmed that the event will be staged from 9th to 12th March 2010. Lack of sponsorship almost killed the event but an eleventh hour move by Pick 'n Pay has saved the day.

The gruelling three day Duzi Canoe Marathon is set to start on Thursday 21st January 2010. First competed in the early 1950's this amazing 3 day canoe race down the Mzinduzi River has attracted competitors from around the globe. The race starts in Pietermaritzburg, and after two overnight stops finishes on Saturday at the Blue Lagoon, north of Durban where the Umgeni River flows into the Indian Ocean. Cape Town : Cape Tourism has reported that initial estimates indicate that Cape Town and surrounds had a quieter December than expected. The slow economic recovery has been blamed. Others believe that the extended break in schooling during the World Cup Soccer Tournament has meant that some have shortened their December break so that they can take a second break in June or July.
