Oudtshoorn - Driving Directions

Directions to Oudtshoorn from Johannesburg, Cape Town, and George

Oudtshoorn is on the N12 between Beaufort West and George. It is about 420 kilometers from the Willie van Schoor on ramp to the N1 in Bellville, Cape and 1100 kilometers from the William Nicol Highway on ramp to the N1 in Sandton, Gauteng.

From Johannesburg

Take the N1 to Bloemfontein. Continue on the N1 to Beaufort West which is 950km from The William Nicol On ramp to the N1 in Sandton. Go through Beaufort West and 7km outside Beaufort West turn left onto the N12 to Oudsthoorn and George. You will go through the beautiful Meiringspoort and then enter De Rust 150km from Beaufort West. Go through De Rust

 

From Cape Town

On the N1 to Bloemfontein enter Laingsburg and turn right into Humphreys Street onto the R328. Continue on the R328 until you join the R62. Turn left and drive through Calitzdorp into Oudtshoorn.

Alternate Route is on the R62 from Worcester to Oudtshoorn through Robertson, Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp.

 From George

On the N2 from Either Cape Town or Knysna take exit 437 onto the N9. Continue all the way through the town of George and out on the N9 up the Outeniqua Pass for about 30km then turn left onto the N12/R62 to Oudtshoorn (about 63km in total)
