Calvinia - Directions to Calvinia, Namaqualand

Directions to Calvinia from Cape Town, Upington or Colesberg.

From Cape Town

Take the N7 towards Malmesbury. Continue on the N7 until you pass the dam just outside Clanwilliam, about 220km from cape Town. Take the exit to the right towards the R364. Turn right toward Clanwilliam and go through the outskirts of the town staying on the R364. In places the R364 is called Graafwater Road and Augsburg Road. Continue on the R364 for around 115km then turn right onto the R27 to Calvinia which is about 35km down the R27.

From Upington

Take the N14/R27 toward Keimos and Kakamas. At Keimos take the R27 to Kenhardt. Go through Kenhardt and staying on the R27 continue to Calvinia. Total Distance is just over 400 km

 From Colesberg

Take the N1 toward Cape Town. At about 73km turn right onto the N10 toward De Aar. De Aar is about 112 km furtheron. At De Aar take the R384 toward Carnarvon. At approx 145km from De Aar turn left onto the R361 and go through Carnarvon onto the R63 toward Williston and Calvinia. Go through Williston and stay on the R63 to Calvinia. Total distance from Colesberg is around 620 km.
