Hermanus Attractions -

Eight Bookstores in walking distance from each other.

When you holiday at the sea you are likely to have one or two days when it's better indoors than out. What better way to spend an afternoon than under a duvet with a good book. Hermanus has eight possible places where you can find such a book for such a day.

The Book Cottage

You will find the Book Cottage at 10 Harbour Road across the road from Rossouw Modern Art Gallery. The Book Cottage stocks a comprehensive range of books and the usual accompaniments such as cards, maps, diaries, journals as well as an extensive selection of titles by South African authors, combined with books on local history and attractions, in short, everything you need.Their telephone number is 028-313-0834

Hemingways

Hemingways are almost next door to the Book Cottage and you can contact them on 028-312-2739. In this interesting shop, evoking a nostalgic era gone by, you can find books whose authors truly have 'stood the test of time'.  Hemingway's  has been featured in the New York Times, The Lonely Planet Guide and visited by bibliophiles from all over the world searching for that rare and unusual find.
