"1710-2010 Summer Elegance" is the affectionate name given to the annual fun filled event held at the Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate, home to the Krone family’s Méthode Cap Classique Sparkling Wines. Celebrating the tricentenary of the legendary Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate, the family like to reflect on it as being only 300 years young..

This occasion marks the grand finale to the busy year and the beginning of the festive summer celebrations at Twee Jonge Gezellen. It is the perfect place to give your elegant attire an airing

and if you had your eye on the garment at the boutique store, you will need no better excuse than this.

This is summer socializing at its finest in a relaxed, yet elegant, ambiance with the crème de la crème of delicatessen offerings to tantalize your senses. Sushi & oyster bars by Wasabi Restaurant, olives by Groote Vallei, handmade nougat by Wedgewood and to crown the day of sensational splendor, the award winning Krone bubbles

Meander through an exhibition of vintage cars, or relax in the shade of the old oak trees & fountains surrounding the Twee Jonge Gezellen Cellar. Meet with friends up on the tasting centre terrace to soak in the vineyards and the imposing mountain range views. Those guests who are a little more energetic will be able to participate in a gentle game or two of boules.

Kobus Dippenaar Haute Couture will be show casing his High Summer Collection at this year’s affair. The distinguished atelier often dresses South Africa’s top social lights. He believes true elegance is achieved through simplicity. His inspiration for this collection will be sophistication, summer and effervescence. To complete the day of sensual splendour will be a performance by the esteemed band Coda. They combine Classical electric strings and Afro-jazz sax with exhilarating beats and sumptuous vocals, reflecting the unique diversity of South Africa. Stay for the day or make it a weekend visit to the beautiful Tulbagh valley.

This years theme is ‘Put your Hat on’ and guests are encouraged to dress accordingly as there will be a prize awarded to the best dressed couple. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to Steinthal Orphanage in Tulbagh. Entrance to Summer Elegance at the House of Krone is R120 per person. This includes a champagne flute glass, admission to the Kobus Dippenaar fashion show and the Coda performance. Under 18’s must be accompanied by their parents. An entrance fee of R80 per child is applicable. Bookings are advisable as the tickets are limited.
