Cape Columbine Lighthouse is situated in the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve a few kilometers south of Paternoster. The Cape Columbine lighthouse was built in 1936 and is often the very first lighthouse seen by ships travelling south from Europe.

The lighthouse is 80 metres above sea level and is itself only 15 tall which about a high as a six story building. The views out over Paternoster up towards St. Helena Bay and inland over the farmlands and fynbos, and then around toward Saldanha Bay are quite splendid.
