The Dutch Reformed Church in Adderley Street is the oldest church in South Africa, constructed on the foundations of the original church built in 1704.

Under the church is a burial crypt that goes back several hundred years and many famous South Africans are buried there. The pulpit is an amazing piece of art comprising 2 hand carved lions on which the pulpit stands and a cantilevered Roof over the pulpit that has stood for many years.

Hermanus – Old Harbour Museum – De Wet’s Huis Photo Museum

Hermanus Old Harbour Museum is a collection of several locations that have been restored by local interest groups over the years.

In the Fisherman's Square and facing East towards Voelklip is the De Wet’s Huis Photo Museum. The building was originally the Dutch Reformed Church Sunday school building and it was dismantled piece by piece, numbered, and transported to its present site in 1983. The reconstruction was completed in 1987.

Hermanus Old Harbour Museum is a collection of several locations that have been restored by local interest groups over the years.

In the Fisherman's Square and facing Walker Bay is the Whale House. The Whale House is a stunning well presented display of all things Cetacean, which includes Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises.

Included in the collection is the suspended skeleton of a young female Southern Right Whale that washed up onto the rock at Onrus rivier in 2003.

Betty's Bay - Chocolatier at Work - By Appointment

You can watch a Chocolatier at work in his sweet smelling home chocolate factory in Betty's Bay on the Cape Whale Coast. One time restauranteer Belgian born Gaspard Bossut turned to making quality chocolate products in 2001. In a long process of trial and error and much research this gifted chef now creates a range of unique designer chocolates including Chilli, Hawaiian vocanic salt, Biltong, Ginger, Orange Peel and others too numerous to recall.

The route that was to become Bains Kloof Pass was discovered by Andrew Geddes Bain in 1846, while he was supervising the building of Mitchell’s Pass. On completion of Mitchell’s Pass Bain tackled the Bains Kloof Pass and it was completed in September 1853. The 18km Pass runs from Wellington over the magnificent Limietberg and high above the Witte Rivier. Even today’s road retains much of the original road as its foundation.
