Rustenburg - Canopy Touring in Magaliesberg

Rustenburg - Canopy Touring in Magaliesberg

The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is a unique eco-adventure that takes clients on a tour down the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof, set in the ancient Magaliesberg Mountains. Eleven platforms have been built against the cliffs and rock faces of the kloof (ravine) and are joined by long steel cables that adventurers slide along to reach the next platform.

Much like a "foefie" slide, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour essentially involves zigzagging down the kloof while stopping at each platform to admire the expansive views and surrounding ecology.

Two trained canopy guides assure the safety of each participant while describing interesting facts about the indigenous plants, bird life, ecology and geology of the area. Including the briefing session, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour last approximately 2½ hours.

How to get there.

From Hartebeestpoort Dam go through the tunnel and up to the Engen Garage at the four way stop outside Brits, where the R104 and R560 intersect. Go straight on the R104 for 36km. You will pass the Buffelspoort Holiday Resort on your left. Just past there turn left, and proceed for11km to the Sparkling Waters Hotel.

On the N4 from Pretoria take the Mooinooi Village exit (Exit 214) on your left. Go through Mooinooi and then turn right onto the R104. You will pass the Buffelspoort Holiday Resort on your left. Just past there turn left, and proceed for11km to the Sparkling Waters Hotel.
