Visit the “Church Tree”
The church tree is actually a “Kareeboom” which today stands outside the Kosmos Café just north of the Town Hall in the main street of Fauresmith. Back in November 1848 the NG Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) celebrated “Nagmaal” under this tree and probably continued to do until the first NG Kerk was built around 1849.
Fauresmith’s Steam Engine
Parked in the main street of Fauresmith is a 1903 class BW Steam Engine numbered 1153, Its on the old line from Jagersfontein through to Koffiefontein and when that rail link was discontinued the local municipality negotiated with the then SAR & H for the old steam engine.
Fauresmith’s Annual Endurance Race
Every year Fauresmith hosts the annual Endurance Race for Horse and rider.
