Swellendam Canola Karnaval Mountain Bike Challenge August 2010

The Canola Karnaval in Swellendam on 6th to 8th August 2010 is
staging three Mountain Bike Challenges on Saturday 7th August.

Challenge 1 Starts at 10:00 Distance 52 km.
The route is a circular one through the Marloth Park Nature Reserve,including parts of the Bontebok National Park. No part of the route is ridden twice and experienced riders will travel on gravel roads, Jeep tracksand around 3km of amazing single track in the Forest. This isa semi technical challenge and is for fit and more experienced riders.
Challenge 2 Starts at 10:15 Distance 25 km.
This challenge also covers spectacular terrain and involves some
serious climbing. It is a lot easier than the 52km ride but not
recommended for the unfit and inexperienced.
Challenge 3 Starts at 10:30 Distance 12km.
This route is recommended for the not so fit, inexperienced and fun
riders. Short it may be but also a load of fun.
The start is in Berg Street. There is plenty of parking available at
Powell Sports Ground in Church Street.
Pre entries cost R70 for PPA members and R100 for non members.
late entries are R100 and R120 respectively.
