Prince Albert Attractions - Reiersvlei Wine Cellar

When in Prince Albert visit the Reiersvlei Wine Cellar to experince a wine grown andproduced in the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains that tower above the farm.

To find Reiersvlei Wine Cellar take the R407 out of Prince Albert towards Meiringspoort and De Rust. You will come across the Wine Cellar about 24 km out of town.

The Donkey Trail through the Swartberg Nature Reserve

From 1830 to 1962 a group of farming families lived peacefully in the Gamkaskloof Valley or “Die Hel” as it became known. Their only connection with the outside world was via foot and donkey trails up “die Hel” to the top of the Swartberg Pass and then down the mountain to either Calitzdorp or to Prince Albert. A road was built in 1962 and opened in 1963.
