Our deluxe guest house and retreat is in Hermanus and is perfect for a rejuvenating break, golf vacation, romantic getaway or whale viewing holiday in Southern Africa.
Health and wellness, paradise on earth, spiritual energy, rejuvenation, strength and even life itself have been symbolised by the Fountain for thousands of years.
The guest house is steeped in history, situated in one of the oldest buildings in the whale haven of Hermanus. It is located on a property famous for its prime whale watching position, across the way from the original fresh water fountain around which the village of Hermanus was founded. At La Fontaine you will find yourself immersed in comfortable luxury and surrounded by the uplifting sights and sounds of waves and whales in season.
Our guest house is not a hotel; it is a home away from home with a warm ambience that offers gracious living and all the comforts conducive to a serene, restorative getaway. Our five en-suite bedrooms are all individually decorated and vary in size and rates.
We offer a spectacular breakfast menu, which can be enjoyed on the patio as you take in the panoramic views across the bay. One of the 5 rooms is a suite that consists of two adjoining rooms that can accommodate 4 people sharing an ensuite bathroom.
During summer, relax by the pool or stroll along the cliff path and in winter, enjoy world famous wines from this region in front of the crackling fireplace in our cosy lounge.
We’re only a short walk to the quaint village centre with bustling galleries, shops and restaurants. We offer all the services and comforts you may need, including satellite
television, hairdryers, heated towel rails, tea trays and more.
Pricing information
ROOM 1:
Luxury sea facing suite - large double/ twin bedded room, small lounge area, dressing room, full bathroom and private balcony.
Rate: R 650 per person per night sharing i.e. R 1300 per night
ROOM 2&3:
Family unit – One double/twin room and one twin bedded room sharing an en-suite bathroom with shower. Suitable for a family with two children, or elderly people.
Rate: 3-4 persons: R 400 per person per night sharing
1-2 persons: R 425 per person per night sharing
Children 2-12 yrs.: R 180 per child per night
Babies (by arrangement): R 100 per night
ROOM 4:
Mountain facing double/twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom and private balcony.
Rate: R 425 per person per night sharing i.e. R 850 per night
ROOM 5:
Spacious double/twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom and private patio.
Rate: R 425 per person per night sharing i.e. R 850 per night
ROOM 6:
Sea facing double room with en-suite bathroom and private balcony.
Rate: R 500 per person per night sharing i.e. R 1000 per night
Single Rates:
April-September: 25% discount on full room rate
October-March: Full room rate

Directions:
From Cape Town International Airport take N2 to Somerset West. Pass Somerset West and Grabouw. At Bot River take Hermanus offramp. When you arrive in Hermanus go straight into town, until you see a Shell Service Station on your right. Turn there and go down to the T junction. Turn Right and you will see us a few hundred meters down the road at number 33 Marine Drive
