District 6 Guest House are proud to have received the prestigious "Most Innovative Product Award" for our stall exhibit at the 2003 'Cape Tourism Showcase' which was held at the Cape Town International Conference Centre.

District Six Guest House is an experience of Cape Malay hospitality that is renowned for its warmth and endearment, reminding one of the cultural diversity of the people that once lived here.

With District Six on it's doorstep, the Guesthouse provides a portal from where, within walking distance, visitors are able to explore the historic locale and the City center. Cape Malay hospitality, renowned for its warmth and endearment, as well as the provision of old Cape Malay traditional cuisine with its unique flavor and condiment, makes for a stay of memorable experience. All foods are strictly Halaal and the consumption of alcohol is not allowed on the premises.

The significance of our guesthouse-site having been declared a National Heritage Site. In effect, the accommodation, consisting of three cottages, is an adaption, during Victorian times, of farm cottages that were attached to the Zonnebloem farmhouse. District Six Guesthouse is within walking distance to: Churches, Mosques, Cape Town Technicon and the Convention Center.

The Conference Room can seat 35 persons in a U-format & 60 persons in a theatre format. The room leads to an outside courtyard which is ideal as a 'break away' room & also where tea is served. Overhead projection, wall charts, slide projection, blackboard & other necessary facilities are catered for & available. The provision of a Full Conference comprises of a welcome Tea/Coffee, a Mid-morning tea, Lunch & an Afternoon Tea. Dinner can be provided upon request.

The establishing of the Conference Facility has proven to be a great success and the venue has been well used by various Organisations, NGO's & Sports Clubs. Included are NEHAWU, Cape Town Routes Unlimited, COSATU, SCORE, a Church Group from the USA, etc. Sports groups can also use facility for their meetings.
