Heritage Guest House offers a total of nine charming, comfortable units, including double and twin en suite rooms as well as twin and single rooms with private bathrooms.
The Heritage Guest House is housed in a building complex which includes the old Alexandria Hotel, Post Office and Police Barracks.
Known for their delicious country-style breakfasts, Heritage Guest House is licensed and lunches and dinners can be served by arrangement.
Heritage Guest House began serving travellers in March 1852 and has been doing so continuously
since then and for the past 20 years has been steadily upgraded by owner/managers Kathleen and
Peter Gordon.

Security gates ensure safe open parking for guests and all our rooms have SABC TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities

For guests wishing to make their own meals a fully equipped self-catering kitchen is available.

The large grounds of the Heritage Guest House provide lovers of the outdoors with our communal Coral Tree Braai (barbecue) area.

Previously called Olifantshoek (Elephant's Corner) - where Addo elephants once roamed freely - the town is now known as Alexandria in honour of Alexander Smith, the first Dutch Reformed Dominee sent here to look after the local gemeente (congregation). The Xhosa name for the town is Emnyameni which means "at the rainbow".
